Woman Critically Injured When Tree Falls on Her Vehicle in Bay Minette

BAY MINETTE, Ala. A woman who was driving was suddenly seriously injured when a tree fell onto her vehicle, trapping her inside her car,

According to Police Chief James Rosier, she was waiting to turn into a grocery store parking lot in the 800 block of West 7th Street.

Bay Minette police and fire departments were dispatched to the wreck along with EMS where they found the woman entrapped with substantial injuries.

During this crash, a heavy storm was passing through the area which included violent blowing winds.

Chief Rosier said that firefighters and rescue personnel had to work fast to extricate the woman, using the jaws of life and other tools.

The driver, who has not been identified by law enforcement, was airlifted to an area trauma center.

As for the vehicle, it sustained heavy damage to its front end and roof.
