City of Semmes Employee Injured After Truck Crashes Into His Lawnmower

SEMMES, Ala. An employee of the City of Semmes is in critical condition after being injured on the job.
According to police, the city employee was hit by a truck while cutting grass on Thursday afternoon.
According to Semmes Mayor Brandon Van Hook, the Public Works employee was on a lawnmower and cutting grass on the right-of-way near Howells Ferry Road and Firetower Road.
EMS, firefighters and police rushed to the scene and transported the worker to an area hospital where he currently is being treated. His name has not been released.
The driver of the vehicle was also transported but his injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
Police are continuing their investigation.
