2 Injured-Impaired Driver Arrested After Crashing on Mary Ann Beach Road

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A motor vehicle wreck on Mary Ann Beach Road off US 98 in the Fairhope area, the second in three days, has resulted in a minor injury to a child and the arrest of the driver.
Baldwin County 911 operators received a call about the wreck at around 9:05 a.m. and dispatched the Barnwell Fire Department, EMS and law enforcement.
An Alabama State Trooper was dispatched to the scene to investigate the crash.
The trooper established that the driver had lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a culvert, injuring two people.
The ALEA trooper detected impairment and after further investigation found that the driver, AMBERLY CAROL MCLARTY, 37, was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
McLarty has been charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
