Daphne Crash Ends With Driver Going to Jail

DAPHNE, Ala. A driver lost control of his vehicle early Saturday morning, April 25, 2026, as he was driving in the area of 26258 Pollard Rd.
At around 5:00 a.m., the Baldwin County 911 Communication Center received a call saying that a vehicle had crashed into a building near that location and that airbags had deployed.
Daphne police and fire departments along with EMS responded to the scene.
According to police, Malachi Eliam Baker was identified as the driver of the vehicle.
Baker received minor injuries, but police determined that he had been driving while impaired.
Baker was charged with Driving Under the Influence and was later booked into the Daphne city jail.
