Foley Police Charge Man With Kidnapping Person In Florida

FOLEY, Ala. Shortly after noon on Friday, April 24, 2026, Foley Police responded to a complaint that Grant Barrett, age 42 of Gulf Breeze, took an acquaintance against their will, threatening force while traveling from Gulf Breeze to Foley.

Foley Officers contacted Barrett and the unharmed 71-year-old male victim shortly after the initial complaint.

After an investigation, Grant David Barrett was arrested for second-degree kidnapping, second-degree marijuana possession, and third-degree criminal mischief.

Foley Detectives also coordinated with the Santa Rosa County Major Crimes Unit and additional charges are pending in Santa Rosa County Florida.

Barrett is currently held at the Baldwin County Correctional Facility without bond.
