Two Rescued in Sinking Boat Near Meaher State Park

SPANISH FORT, Ala. An urgent call for help came into the Baldwin County 911 Communications Center on Thursday at around 1:25 p.m. and dispatchers quickly sent multiple agencies to the rescue.

A boat with at least two people aboard was sinking in the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta south of the Meaher State Park and needed immediate assistance.

The Spanish Fort and Daphne Fire Departments, the Alabama Marine Police, EMS and other agencies were immediately dispatched to the area.
The US Cost Guard was also put on stand-by but were not needed.

Rescuers located the boaters that were in distress and transported them to land.

There were no reports of injuries.
