A Third Gas Station May Open at State Highway 104 & State Highway 181

FAIRHOPE, Ala. A third gas station is being proposed for the corner of State Highway 181 and state Highway 104 near the Publix shopping center.
Murphy USA has submitted plans to the city of Fairhope which will need approval before they can move forward but according to public records, it looks like they could soon be the new guy on the block joining the recently opened WaWa and The Hub.
The submitted plans call for customers to enter and exit the business from Rockwell Boulevard rather than from the State Highway.
If approved, construction could begin before the end of the year.
Murphy USA is an independent, publicly traded company (NYSE: MUSA) that was spun off from Murphy Oil Corporation in 2013. Although many locations are situated in Walmart parking lots, they are separate entities, and Walmart began operating its own in-house stations in 2016.
