Monroeville Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision

MONROEVILLE AL. A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. Friday, April 10,2026, has claimed the life of a Monroeville man.
The pedestrian, Ja’Khari M. Clausell, 22, who was standing in the roadway, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2017 Buick Encore driven by Nicholas D. Childs, 23, of Monroeville. After striking Clausell, the Buick then struck a 2021 Ford F-450, which was stationary and parked in the roadway.
Clausell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on West Claiborne Street within the city limits of Monroeville, in Monroe County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
