Earthquake Hits the Gulf of America

An unusual occurrence occurred on Sunday at 9:23 p.m. Something that is extremely unusual in this part of the country.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) a 3.9 magnitude earthquake in the Gulf of America was recorded at 9:23 p.m. Sunday.
The USGS map shows the epicenter of the quake was in the deepest part of the Gulf, nearly in the middle of the body of water.
Meteorologist Jesse Vinturella said that it is rare to see an earthquake register in the Gulf.
The largest ever recorded in the Gulf, according to Vinturella, was a 5.9 magnitude in 2006.
But there were no warnings issued following the earthquake and there was no reported damage.
