Police Investigating Vehicle Wreck-Possible Suicide

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A motor vehicle collision just minutes past midnight Monday morning ended tragically in a fatal shooting.

A single vehicle crash was reported at 12:07 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 64 and Oakdale Drive.
A caller to the Baldwin County 911 Communications Center also reported hearing gunshots.

Police, several fire departments, and Medstar responded to the area.

A person believed to have been the driver of the vehicle that crashed reportedly ran into nearby woods, where he was found with what authorities say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There are no reports of any other injuries.

Law enforcement said that this incident is under investigation.

The name of the person has not been released.
