STOCKTON, Ala. A fire in a rural part of Baldwin County has claimed the life of one person, according to Stockton Volunteer Fire Chief Marty Hall.

Several fire departments were called out to a structure fire on Bryant’s Landing Road early Sunday morning.

The Stockton, Perdido, and Rabun fire departments arrived at around 2 a.m. to find the house ablaze, and firefighters found one male deceased inside the house, said Chief Hall.

Hall says no other victims were involved.

Chief Hall said that the house was a total loss.

At this time, it’s unclear what started the fire. The State Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause.
