Fairhope Woman Shot, Suspect Commits Suicide

FAIRHOPE, Ala. The Fairhope Police and Fire Departments responded to a shooting, Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at the Shellbrook Apartments on Twin Beech Road.
Upon arrival, police found that a woman had been shot and had a life-threatening injury, and EMS transported her to a medical center.
Police were able to develop information during their investigation that led them to believe that Brian Medley, 60, of Daphne, was the shooter, and an areawide alert was issued for him and the vehicle that he was driving, a white 2014 Chevy 1500 4×4 crew cab truck.
During the early morning hours of Sunday, police discovered that Medley was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said that Medley, known to the victim, forcibly entered her apartment at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, where he subsequently shot her multiple times.
The victim remains hospitalized and in critical condition.
