Mother Arrested After Using Extension Cord to Beat Child

MOBILE Ala. A Mobile mother stands accused of child abuse after being arrested by police who received a complaint that a child had been struck with an extension cord.

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Clubhouse Road in reference to a welfare check.

Upon arrival, officers said that they observed a child with a minor non-life-threatening injury sustained from being struck by the subject with an extension cord.

 The mother was identified as Amber Johnson, 34.

After further investigation, Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Mobile Metro Jail.

Johnson has been charged with a Class B Felony- AGGRAVATED CHILD ABUSE.
