Loxley Man Charged With Child Rapes

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL. In April of 2025 Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators began an investigation into thirty-one-year-old Daniel Allen Hartman of Loxley, Al concerning allegations of child sexual abuse offenses involving a child less than 12 years old.
During the investigation, additional victims were discovered and interviewed.
It was determined that Hartman preyed on children over the course of 9 years, in two states. It was also determined that Hartman crossed state lines for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
On July 15, 2025, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hartman for the offenses of Rape 1st degree, Sodomy 1st degree, Sexual Abuse 1st degree and Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old. These charges stem from two of the identified victims, additional state charges are expected for offenses involving other victims.
The Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Mobile has been contacted, and their personnel are investigating Hartman’s activity as well.
Hartman was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center and is being held on a $135,000 bond.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Department of Homeland Security Homeland Security Investigations, the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Alabama, The Alabama Department of Human Resources, The Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center and The Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office to bring a resolution to these charges.
