Large Group Sentenced to Prison For Fraudulent Scheme

MOBILE, Ala. A large, organized bank fraud and theft scheme operation that netted arrests throughout the area has been finalized in court this past week.

Ten people were sentenced in US Federal Court last week for their part in the organized scheme according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama.

The scheme involved checks stolen from the mail and bearing the information victim businesses and individuals were altered and deposited at various banks.

Authorities say Lollie, Griffin, and their co-conspirators recruited people with accounts at various banks to provide their account information, debit cards, and other support in furtherance of the scheme.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Ralph Tyrone Griffin Jr. of Mobile, 24-year-old Jaden Travier Lollie of Bremerton, Wash., and their co-defendants were involved in the scheme between November 2021 and March 2024.

According to court documents, checks stolen from the mail and bearing the information victim businesses and individuals were altered and deposited at various banks. Authorities say Lollie, Griffin, and their co-conspirators recruited people with accounts at various banks to provide their account information, debit cards, and other support in furtherance of the scheme.

The victims suffered losses of more than $49,000. The scheme involved intended losses of more than $250,000, court documents showed.

Authorities said bank surveillance video captured Griffin and his co-defendants making numerous fraudulent transactions in the Mobile area involving the counterfeited checks, federal prosecutors said.

Agents executing search warrants executed at the residence of the co-defendants seized laptop computers, printers, cellphones, counterfeited and stolen checks, debit cards belonging to other people, and other evidence pointing to fraud, the court documents showed.

U.S. District Judge Kristi K. DuBose handed federal prison terms of 42 months to Lollie and 18 months to Griffin, with both to serve five years of supervised release after completing their sentences. DuBose also ordered the men to pay $49,201 in victim restitution.

The co-defendants and their sentences included:

Jhykez Labarron Adams, age 20, was in possession of an illegal machine gun possession when arrested, (57 months);

Jamarion Ant’Jwan Licharles Adams, age 23, (25 months);

Tamarcus Santreal Napier, age 24, (25 months);

Noraa Loisann Bracy, age 24, (25 months);

Reginald Maurice Spencer Jr., age 25, (18 months);

Khadijah Lashay Kimbrough, age 23, (nine months);

Jamaal Isiah Kidd, age 22, (one day);

Kareer Dewayne Morris, age 21, (time served)

The co-defendants also will serve supervised release and must pay restitution and special assessments.
