Honduran Man Crashes Through NAS Pensacola Entrance

PENSACOLA, Fla. Federal agents have arrested a Honduran man after he intentionally crashed through a barricaded entrance at NAS Pensacola.

Authorities have arrested 34-year-old Orly Moises Garcia Hernandez who is charged in federal court with:

Illegally Entering a Military, Naval, or Coast Guard Property

Resisting or Impeding Arrest of a Federal Officer

The charges were announced by the Northern District of Florida.

According to the authorities, Garcia Hernandez crashed into a barricade outside a checkpoint at the gate of NAS Pensacola and then ran from military forces onto the base to escape capture.

“Garcia Hernandez was ultimately caught at gunpoint after a foot pursuit,” a news release stated.

If convicted, Garcia Hernandez faces up to 1.5 years in prison and deportation from the United States.

Authorities do not know why the man decided to crash through the facility’s entrance.
