Citronelle Shooting May Be An Act of Self-Defense

CITRONELLE, Ala. A shooting Friday night at a gas station appears to be a case of self-defense according to the Citronelle police chief.
At approximately 10:45 PM, an altercation occurred between two individuals outside the Jr Food Mart located at the corner of US 45 and State St.
During the confrontation, one of the individuals discharged a firearm, resulting in the other person being struck.
The person who fired his handgun remained on the scene, providing aid to the injured party until police and first responders arrived, and is cooperating fully with the investigation.”
The injured individual has been transported to a hospital in Mobile for evaluation and treatment.
The Citronelle Police are actively investigating the incident.
In these types of situations, police generally forward their investigation to the district attorney’s office to see if the case should go before a Grand Jury.
