2 Rescued Including Small Child, 1 Missing After Boating Incident Near I-10 Causeway

A boating incident Saturday night in Spanish Fort has left one man missing and several others injured.
The Baldwin County 911 center received several calls at around 7:30 p.m. about a boater in distress on the Mobile Bay near the Interstate 10 Causeway in Spanish Fort.
Initially, Spanish Fort police and fire personnel responded and soon notified dispatch for additional resources.
Authorities were able to rescue a very small child and a second person, but a third person could not be found.
Daphne Search and Rescue and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol also responded to assist in the search but called off the search during the late hours because of severe weather that was moving in.
Searchers will resume their operations Sunday morning they said.
