Walgreen Employee Injured Trying to Stop Shoplifters

MOBILE, Ala. Mobile police were called to the Walgreen’s store located at 3948 Airport Blvd. Wednesday at around 10 p.m. after an employee was assaulted while trying to stop a shoplifter.

When officers arrived, they learned that a store employee, who was not been named, had received minor injuries when they got into a struggle with two women who were reportedly trying to leave the store with merchandise they had not paid for.

During the struggle, the women took the employee’s cell phone before leaving the store, according to police.

When officers arrived at the store, the two women had already fled the area.

No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing.

Both women could face charges of Robbery because force was used in the commission of the theft, Organized Retail Theft, and Assault.
