U.S. Marshals arrest Alabama murder suspect in Texas
HUTTO, Texas — A suspect wanted for capital murder in Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested in Hutto Wednesday night thanks to the collaborative efforts of the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) and the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) in Alabama.
Bennie Humphrey, 32, of Montgomery, was sought on two counts of capital murder related to a crime committed in Montgomery.
An arrest warrant for Humphrey was issued on October 25 by the District Court of Montgomery County.
He was arrested without incident in the 6500 block of County Road 110 after authorities received a lead indicating he had fled Alabama and might be heading toward Hutto, Texas.
Humphrey was transported to the Williamson County Jail in Georgetown where he is currently being held. He will await extradition back to Montgomery to face capital murder charges.
