Two Persons Rescued as Truck Begins to Float Away

Multiple emergency agencies were dispatched to the area of 24775 Waterworld Road, at the Styx River Shooting Center, Monday at around 1:10 p.m. to assist with a possible water rescue.
The Baldwin County 911 Communications Center had received 911 calls reporting that a vehicle was flooded with people inside.
Several fire departments including Styx River, Rosinton, Elsanor, and Gateswood were dispatched to the incident and found that the pickup truck was beginning to be moved by the rising water.
The county sheriff’s office and EMS were also dispatched to respond.
The occupants crawled out of the vehicle and onto the roof as the water began flowing inside.
As more emergency personnel arrived, the occupants were rescued as the water continued to carry the truck away.
There were no reports of any injuries.
