Strickland Detention Center Officer Arrested for Child Abuse

A youth detention officer employed at the James T. Strickland Youth Center has been arrested and fired after allegations that he abused a child that was under his care.
Jarred Easley has been charged with Willful Abuse of Child while on duty at the center.
According to the complaint, Easley is accused of pushing a 17-year-old against a wall and punching him in his head and face with a closed fist on January 2nd.
Currently, Easley is out of jail after posting a $7500 bond and has an upcoming court appearance.
Easley has not made any public statements.
