The strong storms that moved through Alabama’s Gulf Coast Sunday brought heavy rain, lightning, power outages, and flooded roads in some areas of Baldwin and Mobile Counties.
There were at least two water rescues in Baldwin County where people drove through flooded roads and needed the fire department’s assistance to get them to dry ground including on County Road 64 in Loxley.
The storms also brought down some lines in Daphne, Magnolia Springs, and the Gateswood community, and some trees in both Mobile and Baldwin Counties were also reported to have fallen, including several that were blocking the roads.
The Daphne Fire Department also responded to investigate a possible lightning strike to a house.
During the height of Sunday’s storms, several rural north Baldwin County fire departments were called to a house fire that substantially damaged the structure.
