State Troopers Charge Woman With DUI, Drug Possession

 

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.

On Sunday afternoon, state troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for several moving violations.

While an ALEA trooper was talking with the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Karen Elizabeth Ackin, they saw signs of impairment and began a further investigation.

It was determined that Ackin was under the influence of a controlled substance, and she was taken into custody.

Troopers also conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and found a felony amount of controlled substances.

Ackin was transported to the Baldwin County Corrections Center and has been charged with:

Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance

Possession of Marijuana Second Degree

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Driving Under The Influence of a Controlled Substance

Ackin is currently lodged into the jail as of Monday morning.
