Serious Wreck Shuts Down Bayway For Hours

SPANISH FORT Ala.
A very serious two-vehicle wreck during the early morning hours of Sunday shut down Interstate 10 in Spanish Fort and injured several people.
The collision near mile marker 35 westbound caused the vehicles to roll over and two people were entrapped and had to be extricated by the Spanish Fort and Daphne Fire Departments.
Besides the two fire departments, Medstar, Spanish Fort Police, state troopers, and two medical helicopters responded to the scene.
Both helicopters landed on the interstate.
The roadway was shut down for almost four hours while troopers investigated this collision.
We have learned that at least one of the persons involved in the wreck has life-threatening injuries.
ALEA troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
