Quick Moving Fire Destroys Loxley Home

A late afternoon fire on Friday destroyed a home in Loxley just before 4:00 p.m.

The fast-moving fire started in a mobile home on Loxley Heights Road and flames were already showing through the roof when the first firefighters arrived.

An automatic mutual-aid dispatch brought in multiple other fire departments to assist with both fighting the fire and assisting with water supply operations.

Fire officials are looking at a space heater that was in one of the bedrooms as the possible source of the fire but say that the investigation is not complete at this time.
