Daphne police say that a woman from Mississippi went on a bit of a crime spree in the city before getting caught.

Police said that 40-year-old Katie Diana Brewer of Pass Christian broke into multiple cars and stealing them before being arrested.

Officers said that Brewer drove to the area in a stolen Jeep Wrangler (which was later determined to have been stolen in Jackson MS.) and parked on Rand Avenue before entering an unlocked Toyota Rav4 with the keys inside. She then drove that vehicle to a business on Friendship Road where she dropped the Rav4 off and broke into an unlocked Cadillac Escalade that also had the keys inside.

Police say that Brewer continued her crime spree driving the Escalade to a Dollar General on State Highway 181, where police officers said they found her inside of it.

Officers were able to find Brewer because the Escalade owner tracked the vehicle through an app on their phone and notified DPD.

Brewer was arrested and charged with two counts of felony theft of property and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.

But her criminal actions didn’t stop there. After she was booked into the Daphne City Jail, officials said Brewer “attacked and injured” two female corrections officers.

She received two additional charges for second-degree felony assault before being transferred to Baldwin County Corrections.

Brewer has been given a $45,000 bond.
