Mobile Police Responded to Mass Shooting At Party-1 Dead

MOBILE Ala.

The Mobile Police Department is investigating a homicide and a shooting that left several others injured.

On Friday, December 6, 2024, at approximately 10:47 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bellingrath Road and Laurendine Road regarding 911 calls about a shooting.

Officers were told that multiple people had been shot.

Police said that the shooting occurred at an outdoor party that included a bonfire and heavy drinking.

The Mobile Fire-Rescue and Thordore Dawes Department and ambulances were also immediately dispatched to the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim deceased and multiple victims injured.

The injured victims were transported to local hospitals, but at this time the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

According to witnesses, roughly 100 people were at a party at 5375 Laurendine Road. 

According to witnesses, everyone was having a good time when gunshots rang out and the shooters drove off from the scene while firing guns from their vehicle.

Police homicide investigators and other units are currently conducting an active investigation.
