Mobile House Fires Leaves Family Homeless

MOBILE, Ala. A home was destroyed during a Memorial Day fire according to the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department.

The fire department responded to a house fire on Serigny Drive on Monday, May 26, 2025, at about noon and stated that several children were inside when the fire started but no adults.

Emily Gilmore, the homeowner, stated that she received a phone call from one of her children alerting her to the fire. Gilmore said her family has lived in the home for about a year.

Mobile Fire-Rescue personnel quickly extinguished the fire but there was a considerable amount of damage.

Mobile police officers blocked off traffic in the area.

The Mobile Fire Department is conducting an investigation.

No injuries were reported.
