Head-On Collision in Summerdale Leaves Multiple People Injured

Multiple people were injured Saturday during a head-on collision in Summerdale at around 11:30 a.m.
Multiple 911 calls were received at the Baldwin County Communications Center describing the severity of the crash.
The Summerdale Volunteer Fire Department, police and EMS responded to Alabama Highway 59 and County Road 32 where the collision had entrapped two people according to fire personnel at the scene.
Several additional fire departments were also dispatched to the scene for assistance.
Highway 59 at the crash site was temporarily shut down in both directions during the rescue of the injured persons.
A medical helicopter was also dispatched and landed at the crash site and one person was airlifted to an area trauma center.
ALEA troopers are currently investigating the motor vehicle collision.
