Escambia County Firefighter Charged With 38 Crimes Against Children

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. A Florida firefighter remains locked up in the Escambia Florida County jail after being arrested on child pornography charges.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement 48-year-old Garey Anthony Buscaino was arrested on seven counts of video voyeurism of a child under 16 years of age, 30 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
According to officials, the investigation into Buscaino began in April after they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
State agents began conducting their investigation against Buscaino and they received a tip given that a cellphone user had been uploading child sexual exploitation files to a cloud account, according to the release.
Investigators were able to determine that Buscaino was the owner of the account and that he had hidden video cameras that were secretly recording a child “in stages of undress.”
A search warrant was executed on May 15 at two homes where officials said they seized multiple devices.
“A preliminary forensic review located several voyeurism videos and hundreds of files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 4 years old,” according to a state law enforcement news release.
