Police were called to a shooting Saturday night on East Banyan Street and found that one man had been shot.
The shooting happened at around 8 p.m. Saturday night.

The person shot, who has not been identified publicly, later died at North Baldwin Hospital.

According to Bay Minette Police, they were able to arrest 37-year-old Dwight Pettway for the shooting and he has since been charged with murder.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between Pettway and the victim at a small gathering on Banyan Street.

Police said that Pettway has been arrested multiple times on various charges since 2007.
