Eluding Police Leads to Felony Drug Charges

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.

Police attempted to stop the driver of a truck for committing traffic infractions on Friday afternoon, but he initially failed to yield to the police.

He finally got stopped and was taken into custody.

While conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, police also confiscated a large quantity of marijuana.

Darryl Lowell Watkins, 31, was arrested and charged with:
Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance
Felony Possession of Marijuana First Degree
Attempting to Elude a Police Officer
Tampering with Physical Evidence

The truck that Watkins was driving was also towed by police.

Watkins was booked into the Baldwin County jail but has since bonded out.
