Birmingham Police Make 77 Arrests, Confiscate Drugs, Guns

In a concerted effort to enhance public safety, Birmingham’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) made 77 arrests between February 24 and March 1, 2025, as part of Chief Pickett’s ongoing initiative.
The arrests included 32 felony charges and 45 misdemeanors. During the same period, officers conducted 281 traffic stops and issued 235 citations. The team also seized eight firearms, one of which was reported stolen, and towed 11 vehicles.
Narcotics confiscated by the SET included 382.76 grams of marijuana, 4.12 grams of crystal meth, 1 gram of fentanyl, 32.61 grams of cocaine, 20.73 grams of ecstasy, 86 grams of codeine, 1.5 grams of Percocet pills, 10.96 Xanax pills, and 2.51 grams of tramadol. Additionally, $3,182.42 in currency was seized.
These initiatives will continue as the department strives to create a safer environment for everyone, officials said.
