City of Foley Breaks Ground For New Library-Community Center

Foley is getting a new library and community center that’ll have more than 40,000 square feet of space, more than double the size of the current facilities.

The groundbreaking will take place at 11 a.m. today, Thursday at the library site at 230 E. Orange Ave.

The mayor had announced previously that the population and use of the old library and surpassed the capacity of the current library.

The nearly $18 million project will also serve be a community center, with meeting space, an auditorium, computer labs and study rooms.
