Fire Burns Structures, Vehicles, and Woods in Baldwin County

Firefighters fought a large, stubborn, brush fire off County Road 68 Tuesday that covered 8 acres off the road.
The fire was reported at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, and several fire departments including the Styx River Fire Department responded to the area and battled the fire for more than two hours before finally extinguishing the blaze.
Firefighters packed up their equipment and headed back to the station but within two hours, another fire was reported in the same area but this time firefighters had an even bigger fire to fight.
Arriving on the scene, firefighters from the Styx River Fire Department found several structures, multiple vehicles and woods were on fire and quickly getting out of control.
A person who was in one of those structures that was on fire was assisted by fire personnel.
A mutual-aid call went out and numerous fire departments and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters spent several more hours at the scene and at least two structures were destroyed along with some vehicles according to the fire department.
A considerable size of wooded area that surrounded the buildings also burned during the incident.
At this time, no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under control.
